Luggage With Love began from a desire to serve foster families on the first night of a new placement. It is our goal to provide clothing and supplies to newly-placed foster children in Oklahoma. Our hope is that by providing children with some basic supplies they can call their own, peace will be brought into a disrupted situation.
Luggage With Love will demonstrate our faith in Jesus by providing for the basic physical, emotional, & spiritual needs of newly-placed foster children and their foster families.

In April, 2015, one of our founders was delivering clothing to a foster family. As she pulled up to the house, she realized what a blessing it would be to have someone deliver a package of clothing and supplies to every foster child when they were placed. She took her idea back to her Pastor at Victory Family Church, and he approved the idea for a small group outreach program. After forming a small group, within the church, and creating and presenting a business plan to the church, the outreach was approved. Prior to launch the team realized how big the need is in our community, and began the process of creating a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. On the day of launch, the IRS approved the organization’s 501(c)(3) status. Luggage With Love is now partnering with several churches, individuals, and businesses to bring this program to the community and expand across the State of Oklahoma.
There are approximately 12,000 children in foster care, in the State of Oklahoma. One of the most difficult days of foster care is The First Night. On the first night…. • The child’s life was turned upside-down, through no fault of their own • The child may have witnessed the police take away his/her parents in handcuffs • The child may have witnessed severe physical, sexual or emotional abuse • The child may be hungry • The child will be wondering what he/she did that caused this to happen • The child will be frightened • The foster parent will be anxiously awaiting the new arrival(s) • The foster parent will wonder what type of situation the child came from • The foster parent will wonder what foods/drinks the child likes • The foster parent will be concerned for the child’s health • The foster parent will be concerned about what the child will wear • The foster parent will be concerned about how to get the child enrolled in school or day care It is our hope to bring some relief on The First Night, by delivering basic clothing and hygiene necessities for the child, a Bible, and offering to pray with the foster family. We currently support newly placed foster and adoptive children in Cleveland County, Okahoma. But have plans to expand across the State over the next several months. Our longer term goal is to provide crisis counseling for foster parents, for free. As well, we plan to start grief counseling support groups for foster families.
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so all donations are tax deductible. Your donations help us purchase the clothing and supplies necessary to serve the foster children and families of Oklahoma. Checks should be made payable to “Luggage With Love”.Read More
Our volunteers allow us to deliver the luggage, clothing, and supplies, within 12 hours of receiving the request. We ask our volunteers to serve 1 shift per month. Volunteers are background checked and trained prior to service.
Join us in prayer as we work towards ending the orphan crisis in Oklahoma!

“The Bible directs the Church to care for orphans in their time of distress. Often times, foster and adoptive children don’t have adequate clothing and supplies when they are initially placed. Luggage With Love, a VFC ministry, meets the needs of these children in our community by providing free clothing, a Bible, and praying for the children they serve.”
“The Foster Care & Adoptive Association of Oklahoma wishes to thank Luggage With Love for their rise to the call of supporting our foster families with this free clothing program for new foster and adoptive placements in Cleveland County. It’s just another way “Love can build a bridge”.
“There are many great organizations that serve foster children in Oklahoma, one of them is a new non-profit starting in Cleveland County, Luggage With Love. As you can imagine, being removed from an unstable home is extremely traumatic for a child. This charity helps with providing donated items for children who are in transition or settling in with a foster family.
